Riot Needs to Change Disciplinary Actions

League of Legends is one of the biggest games on the PC right now and it’s been that way for a while now. Riot has done a great job of providing awesome MOBA entertainment with a free-to-play game and making their money through minor transactions and Riot Points. For those that have never tried League of Legends, it’s a very unique game with a very fun play style. The one and only problem with League of Legends is the community and how insubordination is handled within that community.

Riot holds their own Tribunal where players can report other players for being offensive, “trolling”, or even if the player has to leave and go do something important, they can get reported and, in turn, banned from the game. I have never, in all my years of gaming, seen such a hostile environment filled with insecure adults and obscenely rude little kids. I don’t know about anyone else, but when some punk starts mouthing off to other players because they’re talking to a computer screen, all I want to do is make them feel as small as they really are. Apparently, I’m good at doing this because I just got off of my third suspension for simply arguing with punks that do nothing but blame other people when they lose a game.

This system where people will report other people for making one mistake or saying something in defense is not okay anymore. Riot needs to, instead, reward players for being friendly and outgoing by extra Influence Points or some sort of reward system. Right now all they do is give you a little ribbon on your summoner name and that does nothing. Riot, please fix this horrible disciplinary system that does not work and makes the environment so hostile and not friendly.
