Kaz Hirai: Sony May Let Microsoft Make the First Move

This bit of news is surprising and, yet, not surprising in the least, given how Kaz himself put it: “Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?
While this means that Sony is intent on making sure their next system the best on the market for the next generation, this also means that Sony may not be 100% confident that they’ll have the best system out of the three when all is said and done. This seems to be a natural thought process given that Sony has been rumoured to be retiring Dualshock and integrating brand new technologies specific to Sony products into their new system. The scope for both companies seems much bigger than their last offerings so to say something like this shows a little bit of a humble attitude, even if it means little this late in the game, so to speak.
