Hints to Extended DLC For Dead Space 3

Posted January 29, 2013 by Felisha "Nightingale" Silva in News

Dead Space 3‘s game producer, Steve Papoutsis teased us Dead Space fans on his recent blog. In his blog, he gave hints to DLC to extend the story line in Dead Space 3.

“As you can see, we have a lot planned for you in DS3, and the team is hard at work on a top secret additional story that will be coming in a few weeks. We’re not saying much, yet – but think ‘disturbing’ to get your imaginations going.”

Well, vague or not, I’m super excited to see what they come up with. And not only did he talk about the DLC, he also talked about the four modes you unlock by beating the game initially. The four modes include New Game+, Classic Mode, Pure Survival Mode, and an evil new take on Hardcore Mode.

New Game+ is pretty self-explanatory; you restart the game with all weapons and upgrades from the previously beaten game. Classic Mode is a one-player only venture through the game. In Classic Mode, your crafting is removed, and the aim is set up to be like the original Dead Space. Pure Survival Mode is just as it states: Pure survival. Only the enemies you take down will drop all you resources, oh, and did I mention there is no health, ammo OR weapon packs???

If you think Pure Survival Mode sounds hard, wait till you read this next section telling you of the awesomness that is the new and improved Hardcore Mode…
Remember back in Dead Space 2, in their Hardcore Mode where you could save up to three times? Yeah, not anymore. In the new and improved, or shall I say EVIL Hardcore Mode, you only have one life…yup, only one life. You die, and it’s all the way back to the beginning of the game for you.

As if we weren’t excited enough for the latest installment of the Dead Space series…this just adds to the glorious excitement.
