Xbox Live Achievements come to iOS via Wordament

Xbox Live Achievements are one of the biggest reasons that any gamers out there like to compete because they want to compare all of the points that they have earned and see where they stand in the world with their “Gamerscore”. The more points you have, the higher the Gamerscore and the more powerful that player is in certain games or something of that nature. Well now players are going to be getting Gamerscore for having more than the Xbox on and this is just the beginning to cross-platform gaming everywhere.

The Xbox Live Achievements have come to iOS in the form of some amazing word puzzle game called Wordament that works the same way Scrabble does except it’s like a twisted version of Sudoku. If players can do well during these incredibly fun and challenging word puzzles, then they can earn a ton of Xbox Live Achievement points for their Gamertag because it’s not just one or two things being added, it’s an entire list of achievements, like all of the ones available in the game. This is a mobile scoring system for another system and if this integrates well, hopefully without too many bot players or hackers, then this could be the start of something big.

Microsoft could head in a completely new direction with mobile gaming if they wanted to as more and more apps hit the marketplace. A total of 50G can be earned through Wordament and it’s completely free so that tells you that the Gamerscore most gamers take a ton of pride in (at least with my experience on the Xbox 360), can be pumped up more and more without these players actually even being on their Xbox consoles so it’s time to step it up on and off the Xbox platform gamers.
