Sleeping Dogs Zodiac Tournament DLC Great
Sleeping Dogs is still one of those titles I feel that did not get enough attention and they have launched another successful DLC for the game. The Zodiac Tournament DLC is finally showing that Sleeping Dogs has that ancient Kung Fu side with a touch of modern gameplay instead of the other way around by pitting Wei Shen against fearsome enemies in a tournament where dirty play, honor, and death are all factors. On the island that Wei travels to, there are some of the most intense running obstacle courses, kung fu fights, and cinematic scenes that are way more deep than the story in Kung Fu.
My absolute favorite part of the Zodiac Tournament DLC is the fact that Wei Shen gets to race other competitors in the sort of free-running mechanic that always the best part of the original game as well. The island is forever changing and the weather is even incorporated while you’re going through the running puzzle. I remember running through a cave and it opened up to a hollowed out area where there was an old rickety bridge. I couldn’t stop sprinting as I was in a race and as I jumped through the air, the bridge was struck with lightning. These quick time events are what belongs in games like this and I welcome it with open arms.
I have not been able to beat the Sleeping Dogs Zodiac Tournament DLC yet, but as far as I have gone through, it’s amazing and I can’t wait to complete Dr. Zhang’s island. The tests of the island are extreme and the winner of the trials are promised “eternal glory and endless rewards”. It looks as though there is not just one fight for the tournament or even a bracket system, but I have been in multiple fights using different weapons and some of the most amazing environment kills that I have ever seen with the game so far. Definitely a DLC worth checking out so make sure to see how you all do on Dr. Zhang’s island of trials.
