Far Cry 3 Co-op Campaign Has Something to Offer
Far Cry 3 is Ubisoft’s most recent success and what many players don’t know is behind the single player story, there is a co-op campaign that is equally as good, if not better in SOME ways. Now before everybody freaks out at me saying that it can be better, it is only in little ways that impressed me and grabbed my attention. First of all, you don’t have to listen to Jason Brody’s annoying, cry baby voice throughout the entire game, even though towards the end he becomes quite a good leader and a surviving badass. Second, you get to mess stuff up with friends, and if you have a tight-knit team that actually wants to try instead of screwing around, it is an experience unlike any other.
Now the story is completely different from the main story line which is also a plus but the biggest negative that I found with co-op gameplay is that there is NO open world exploration, and there needs to be. I mean, think about it, a fast-travel system in the game can allow players to hop to where you are when you shout “look what I found guys!” or “so, I’m being eaten alive by a shark”. The characters on this side of the game are much more interesting and engaging and they work together which just reaches out to me more than flying solo.
I have found myself wanting more and more for there to be open world in co-op every time I log on but then I just hop on over to single player and have a blast flying around the island. All modes are worth checking out in Far Cry 3, but if you can get some friends together, definitely explore Rook Island (as limited as you are) as soon as possible.

I like the characters in these stories way better.
Amen to dealing with the “no open world stuff”. Not cool.
