Metal Gear Solid has had its 25th anniversary and now the Metal Gear Solid 4 has been declared as exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Some gamers might be confused over in New Zealand, however, since a gaming store there put it on their shopping list for the Xbox 360. This is not okay to do because now, Konami has had to go out and say “this is not the case, it’s only for the PlayStation 3”. Nobody likes to hear that a developer has had to cram a linear game down to one console, especially when it’s a special edition of a game because it makes Xbox players feel as though they are not special or that Konami has a favorite.
It looks as though it was perhaps some kind of joke, since the Xbox 360 logo seems to be photo shopped on to the cover of the video game, but on the website for the store itself, it clearly says that it’s unavailable and it just was released. Metal Gear Solid is an amazing game but there is no reason as to why somebody would do this and if they thought it was just some joke, they don’t really know what kind of trouble that they could get in to for fraud like this.
Konami could, and should, put on a full investigation of who did this and get them in to the trouble that they deserve to be in. Metal Gear Solid 4: 25th Anniversary Edition is not going to be available for the Xbox 360 anywhere and this hoax may have been a way for certain players to ask for the edition to be provided for the other consoles as well as the PlayStation 3 but this is not the way to get it on the Xbox 360 as well.
