Resident Evil 6: Leon’s Terrifying Campaign

Resident Evil 6 is shaping up to be so much better than the closer ones following it since Capcom is going back to the terrifying roots of the old games. Walking down a hallway with one gun and it is completely dark is how the game starts (as it should) and as you progress, you find and unlock new weapons and skills as Leon. Leon is travelling with a partner which you, as the player, can make him play with a rather incredible AI system or let a friend join in on the fun.

The campaign starts with Leon shooting the flesh-eating president of the United States of America in the head because he is attacking the woman he happened to be walking with. Then as you travel through the Whitehouse you don’t really fight any zombies but it is terrifying just walking through the game knowing that “this is a Resident Evil made like the old ones….oh no”. I know that I have definitely found myself asking why I requested this game to be so scary again since I don’t even want to look over my shoulder after I’ve played some of Leon’s campaign. The stories are split in to three characters and since I haven’t tried any of the other ones, I have been freaking out over how amazing and scary Leon’s campaign is. His is more about slow zombies by the dozen that only want to eat you where the others’ focus on weapons and more intense stuff.

In Resident Evil 6 I’m moving through on Leon and from fighting off hordes of zombies in a gun shop to killing some sort of insane zombie shark, Leon’s campaign covers every aspect of the ideas that make a game scary and fun to play at the same time.

Everyone keeps saying how bad RE6 is…I’ve only played a bit of it, but I like it thus far! :D I need to play more to really make a legitimate opinion on it, but so far, so good.
