A release window of Spring 2013 for Grand Theft Auto V has been leaked thanks to an image of a European poster for the game.

Publisher Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny this date but the company did announce that more information would be made available about the title next month. The game was announced a year ago this past week and a demo was released to news outlets earlier this month but a release date has yet to be announced.

The leak image does not specify whether the date is for a global release or solely for European markets. Rockstar previously released its predecessor Grand Theft Auto IV simultaneously in western markets but waited six months afterward to release it in Japan. The poster does list the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as platforms, which suggests no Wii U version.

Details on the game have also been scarce and have comprised mostly of screenshots of cars and landscapes. What is known is the game will take place in the fictionalized version of Los Angeles called Los Santos, and will utilize the Crews system for multiplayer introduced in Max Payne 3.

We haven’t heard much about Grand Theft Auto V which led me to believe that the game wouldn’t be released until over a year from now and possibly on next gen consoles. However, with this news that the game may be coming next year, I have to wonder whether we know enough about the game to get excited.

I personally have the not popular opinion of thinking Grand Theft Auto IV was not a fun game so I am cautious about this new game. Still I’m willing to give it a try, based mostly on the name alone. What do you think? Are you excited for Grand Theft Auto V? Is your excitement solely on the name of the franchise? Comment below and let us know!

Hello. I'm Esteban Sky Cuevas aka Colorwind and I'm the managing editor for Gaming Precision. I've been gaming ever since I was six years old when I played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 at someone's house and then begged for a video game console. That console was a NES but I quickly moved on to a SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, Atari 2600, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast, PS2, Saturn, GameCube, Xbox, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and 3DS. I like all genres of video games but I'm partial to Platform titles, Action Adventure games, and fighters. I love old SNK fighters like Samurai Shodown and Fatal Fury, and my favorite video game character is Sonic the Hedgehog. My top five consoles are in reverse order the Xbox 360, SNES, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Genesis and Sony PlayStation, although I often talk about how the Sega Saturn deserves more attention than it got.
