Crysis 3 is the next generation example for first person shooters and the game has shown some of the most promising multiplayer gameplay in quite a while. February of 2013 is going to bring futuristic killing to consoles everywhere in some of the most interesting and innovative game modes that have ever been featured in a multiplayer setting. Crytek and EA have brought back Crysis in a way that no fan expected with an all new graphics engine and Crysis 3 is actually turning out to be one of the best looking games featured in 2013 for a multiple platform game.

During an interview with one of the developers from Crytek UK, he reveals two of the game modes that are going to be featured in the multiplayer. The first game mode is your basic ‘infected’ game mode where a team of two ‘hunters’ will be facing off against a team of operatives attempting to survive being hunted. The hunters are at a huge advantage because they have a silent weapon and a nano suit that provides invisibility and stealth to take out their targets. Once they kill an enemy, he becomes one of the hunted and so on until the last operative is found and killed. The operatives  are equipped with multiple preset choices and an EMP grenade to malfunction the nano suits and that’s all they have to defend themselves. This game mode is going to change the way that players act on the battlefield and has the potential to improve base gameplay all around and was a great decision on the developer’s part.

The second game mode featured is ‘Crash Site’ and it was basically described as a king of the hill mode where the hill continues to move around. Not as exciting as Hunter will be but still promising so hopefully we’ll see a balance of both in February of 2013.
