Borderlands 2 Captain Scarlett DLC Leaked

The first downloadable expansion for Borderlands 2 has been outed. Although some extra content has already been made available, such as this week’s Mechromancer class, a serious DLC pack has yet to be announced or released until today. The new content is known as Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty. The new content was outed when the game’s trophy list on the PlayStation 3 version was updated to include three extra Captain Scarlett trophies.

The three trophies added are for completing the X Marks the Spot mission, which consists of discovering all named locations in Oasis and the surrounding Pirate’s Booty areas and completing all Pirate’s Booty side missions. This suggests, along with information taken from the game’s PC source files by Gearbox forum users, that the new DLC will introduce new areas to explore.

Other details suggest that the DLC pack will also include new heads for each class, a new rarity level, and new items, weapons and bosses. The content may involve a tournament of some kind held by Handsome Jack but that’s unconfirmed. Gearbox forum users also seem to have found the introduction to the new DLC pack which reads as follows:

Legends speak of Captain Blade’s Lost Treasure of the Sands. Of a prize so great, that men would turn the sands red in pursuit of it. Of a pirate queen, courageous and deadly, who would stop at nothing to find it. Of a monstrous Leviathan. Of the Vault Hunters who journeyed to the desert town of Oasis, not knowing the horrors that would befall them.

Developer Gearbox Softworks has yet to make an official announcement and has yet to confirm or deny these details. No release date is known and neither has it been made clear if this pack will be included in the Borderlands 2 Season Pass. Are you excited for some new Borderlands 2 content? Have you finished the game yet? Do you think this content has anything to do with the British TV Marionette show? Will the Mysterions make an appearance? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
