The Flood Return in Halo 4

The Flood are coming back in Halo 4. Despite 343 Industries announcing at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con that the flood would not appear in Halo 4, it appears that they will be present. However, they won’t be a part of the campaign. The most annoying enemy in the Halo series will be regulated to one multiplayer mode called Flood. I guess what they meant to say before is the Flood won’t appear in Halo 4‘s Campaign.

This mode is similar to the Infected mode of previous games. Two “Infected” Flood players will take on up to eight other players. Each kill by an infected adds the downed player to the Flood side until there’s no player left. The main antagonists of Halo 4 is still a new ancient alien race known as the Promethians and the Flood will only be in this optional multiplayer mode.

343 Industries also revealed two new vehicles that will be introduced in the game. The first is called the Mammoth and its a giant troop carrying vessel. The other is a bipedal mech with rockets and cannons. No word on whether you can use the mech to blow up the Flood in the new mode.

Halo 4 is set to be released on November 6th and development director Frank O’Connor and confirmed that production on Halo 4 has completed after “three years of incredibly hard work from about 300 people.”

I’ve never been a fan of the Flood myself but what do you think, GP peeps? Are you happy to see the Flood return to Halo 4 in some form? Is it fine since it’s only in a multiplayer mode or should they not be in the game in any form whatsoever? The comment section below awaits your response!

Hello. I'm Esteban Sky Cuevas aka Colorwind and I'm the managing editor for Gaming Precision. I've been gaming ever since I was six years old when I played Sonic the Hedgehog 2 at someone's house and then begged for a video game console. That console was a NES but I quickly moved on to a SNES, Genesis, PS1, N64, Atari 2600, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast, PS2, Saturn, GameCube, Xbox, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and 3DS. I like all genres of video games but I'm partial to Platform titles, Action Adventure games, and fighters. I love old SNK fighters like Samurai Shodown and Fatal Fury, and my favorite video game character is Sonic the Hedgehog. My top five consoles are in reverse order the Xbox 360, SNES, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Genesis and Sony PlayStation, although I often talk about how the Sega Saturn deserves more attention than it got. Check out my Twitter and Tumblr if you would like to follow me.

Wow the flood look really different in that screenshot. Out of all of the changes Halo has made aesthetically over the years, I’d say The Flood have changed the most. I’m happy to see some representation in Halo 4 though, even if it’s not in the campaign.
