Realms of Ancient War on the Xbox 360 Dashboard

Realms of Ancient War is an arcade game that has just been released on the Xbox 360 Dashboard and it’s shaping up to be one hell of a hack’n’slash adventure. The developer is Wizarbox and this has to be one of the best little Xbox Dashboard games that I have played in quite some time.  The game is a heroic-fantasy, role-playing game that puts the player in the shoes of a powerful Warrior, a dark Sorcerer or a Rogue who has mastered stealth. The game is a quest completer and supports the player playing each character type and even defeating enemies and questing with  friend.

This little secret, hole-in-the-wall game has actually already sucked a few hours of my life away and I can honestly say that every minute of it has been worth it. I normally like playing the games that aren’t some huge title everyone is expecting but this one really opened my eyes the most lately. Realms of Ancient War, or R.A.W. has its own talent system that allows you to spend skill points to learn new abilities or upgrade you character’s attributes (i.e. health, damage, critical strike chance). Some are saying that this is a “Diablo clone” and players shouldn’t waste their time with it. Well I can put that rumor to rest saying that I am a true Diablo fan and this game has me playing IT more than Diablo has even come close to. It just feels more exciting with the real time action and combat and the leveling system makes you feel proud of the class you are defeating hordes of enemies with.

The best feature about this game is the cooperative play which is just as smooth as the single player except you can change how you play to really maximize your effectiveness on the battlefield with a friend. For example, if you are a warrior and slam the ground with an area of effect ability, a rogue can quickly move from target to target finishing off all the foes at low health. It’s bold of me to compare to this to the major titles out their today, but if you’re interested, check out the free trial version and get hooked just as fast as I did and get sucked in to the Realms of Ancient War.

Wow this really does look better than D3 but sadly won’t get any of the rep because it’s not mainstream =(. Definitely gonna try this one out with my budz, thx!!
