The Wii U’s online service will be offered in a premium version, available to those that purchase the upper-tier Wii U. The service, dubbed the Nintendo Network Premium, is a sort of rewards program. Users will receive 10 percent of each purchase in the form of points  which can be traded for games and DLC.

Nintendo Network Premium is scheduled to last until December of 2014. It is not yet known how those who do not purchased the upper end Wii U will be able to access this service.
