Monks in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
World of Warcraft has had the same classes regarding the subject of the Cataclysm for way too long, and there is FINALLY a new class coming into play. The Monk class is going to be one of the most unique, versatile classes ever to be created by Blizzard. They go hand in hand with the storyline coming in to play in MoP and they are going to be even more popular than when Death Knights came out in the Wrath of the Lich King. Monks are going to be allowed to play as a tank, damage and even heal their allies in all of the new content coming out on September 25th.
Now it’s true that races other than the Pandaren can be a monk, with all of the passive/racial abilities as well as a new starting area, there is no good reason not to level your monk as an awesome panda. The tank class is called the Brewmaster, who uses elixers and empowered alcohol to protect himself and his allies. The damage role is going to be known as the Windwalker, who will use a ton of different fighting styles and melee attacks to take down his foes. Last but not least, we have the Mistweaver, who is going to heal his allies by casting empowered mist and water on himself and allies to keep those health bars up. Blizzard did a wonderful job with the animations and lore of the Pandaren and the Monk class altogether and players are counting down the days until the servers go live so we can all explore the land of Pandaria.
Hopefully players are not going to do what always happens and go to Blizzard’s forums and complain that the Monk is too overpowered, just because the role has some cool and unique moves. Most of the time it’s the PVP players that are upset that they won’t be able to kill a Monk in two seconds and Blizzard needs to stick to their guns instead of “nerfing them in to the ground”. Monks are going to bring WoW back and it’s exciting to see what is going to happen to the class as time goes on. Keep up the good work Blizzard and we will try to fill the awesome Monk role as best we can.
