Borderlands 2 Will Have Additional Non-Season Pass DLC
Borderlands 2 has a Season Pass that will guarantee free upcoming DLC to those who buy it. However, some DLC, like the Mechromancer character, is not included in that deal. We now know that there will be more DLC content not included in the Season Pass. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox Software, did a Q&A with Kotaku readers and answered one commenter’s question about upcoming content. Quote:
“The stuff we’re planning and working on for the Campaign DLC Season Pass is big DLC stuff – more like Knoxx. We’re extremely far along with the first campaign DLC. The second DLC is also in amazing shape. The third DLC is a little farther out and the fourth DLC is just in the pre-concept stages. We will have other, non-season pass related DLC. The additional character (Mechromancer) is one kind of example. The Borderlands 2 team is fired up at the moment. Customer love for the game is driving us wild – making us want to do more and more stuff. So, expect that there will be even more beyond the big Campaign DLC in the Season pass and the add’l character. We’ll announce more stuff as soon as we are able to be confident in the commitment of the details we share.”
Pitchford also mentioned that some of the DLC will also be developed by a different studio, namely developer The Workshop which recently released Sorcery on the PS3. The Mechromancer DLC is available now to those who pre-ordered by will be available to those who didn’t in Mid October for $10. What do you think GP peeps? Are you upset that not all the DLC will be included in the Season Pass? Is the Season Pass worth getting since it includes at least four major DLC packs? Comment below and let us know.
