Black Ops 2 Graphics Details
Thanks to the features of the DirectX 11 supporting engine, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is upping the graphical standard for the series. According to the Call of Duty blog, the game will feature “enhanced lighting, shadows, antialiasing, bloom, depth of field, ambient occlusion, and other enhanced effects that are still in the works.” It will run in higher resolutions and have an uncapped framerate.
According to Trayarch, “The DX11 API is leaner than DX9 and requires less CPU time to do the same amount of work It is important to point out that this benefits the entire range of supported GPUs, not just DX11 hardware.” The game’s engine will be faster and smoother, and there are more visual options available for the development team to work with.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set to release on November 23 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a potential Wii U release on the horizon.
