SWTOR Crashing Hard

Star Wars the Old Republic was supposed to be one of the biggest and long lasting MMO’s to have ever been released. As of late that is not the story in the slightest because EA was just simply not ready for what they were getting themselves into. The funny thing is that all of the players that were sick of other games like World of Warcraft or Rift were really counting on this game to be the one that really saved it. When the game launched, it was amazing (simply because it was new) with individualized stories that the player made all the decisions on.

The gearing worked the same way that WoW does, but honestly, why try and do something different than what works wonderfully already? The player versus player was nice and something to do, but for some reason EA thought it was the right idea to focus entirely on that instead of focusing on bringing out enough content for players to enjoy. The one thing that is destroying games out there right now is that big question, which is “what happens when you reach end game?” EA failed miserably in coming out with new content and they provided the tiniest little patches to try and excite the players that had absolutely nothing to do and the funniest thing was that the possibilities with the game was endless.

So what is it that EA decided to do to “fix their wrong-doings”? They decided to make SWTOR a free-to-play game which means if you just buy the initial game, you don’t have to pay a monthly fee to experience SOME of the very limited content that they have out even after all of this time. They really are getting desperate to hang on to the little die hard Star Wars fans that they have left and it’s just falling further and further down the list. It’s taken time for other games to launch before, maybe there’s still hope for this failed MMO.
