The new Ouya console is off to a strong start after raising $8.6 million through the crowd-funding site, Kickstarter, surpassing its $950,000 goal by a whopping 904%. The system aims to make console gaming a more open environment, one in which indie developers can thrive. Watch their Kickstarter ad here to learn more.

Now the development team has hit the ground running, and has made the system open to pre-orders. The console plus one control comes in at $109, including $10 shipping. Adding a second controller makes it $139, and a four controller bundle totals $199. To check out the potential future of console gaming, check out Ouya’s website.
