Darksiders 2: Death’s Arsenal
Darksiders 2 is adding one of the most innovative arsenal aspects to the interface that shows just how much it has evolved from the original title released not so long ago. One of the most distinctive differences between Darksiders and it’s equally amazing sequel is not just the change in characters, but the gear and weapons used are entirely different. In Darksiders, the horseman War was able to wield a sword that no other being in the world could wield, which made him a force to be reckoned with. However, his brother Death is not only able to dual wield scythes for maximum damage, but holds a secondary weapon that he can instantly whip out to eliminate his enemies.
Not only can Death wield multiple weapons for an edge like no other on the battlefield, he can also find different weapons throughout the entire game that also can be compared with a ton of stats and different fighting styles. Weapons are identified by color and style showing how rare and devastating they can truly be. A green weapon is the one of the most basic enchanted weapons that can provide stats such as an increased critical chance. Whereas a red weapon, means that weapon is “possessed” and actually has the ability to “consume” other weapons and armor to increase its own stats. The beautiful thing about this is if a player enjoys a certain fighting style with one kind of weapon, whether it be a huge hammer or two quick armblades of death, all you need to do is find a possessed weapon and “feed” it and you’re good to go.
The final aspect of Death’s limitless arsenal is the fact that his stats, style of play, and killing technique can change even by the armor he is equipping as he explores multiple realms. If a player feels like lighting is undead enemies on fire with the strikes from his scythes, then he can equip a harness imbued with the power of critical flame strikes. Or for the explorers out there, you can even equip a pair of boots or gloves that increase experience gained for leveling or the amount of money or “gilt” that Death finds in his journey. These are just a few ideas that make Death’s journey limitless and completely enjoyable in Darksiders 2.
