Can Assassin’s Creed 3 Work with the New Gun System?
Assassin’s Creed 3 has already won the title of “most anticipated game ever” for the year of 2012; however, some are worried about the introduction of guns in the new adventure. The time has leaped in to the Revolutionary War and muskets and flintlocks fill the assassin’s world. One can only wonder how the main character, Connor, will be able to react when his enemies are pointing rifles at him by the group. Everything else about the game looks absolutely perfect, but Ubisoft is even finding a way to make the gunplay in the new Assassin’s Creed fit in just the right way.
There are so many ways that Connor can pretty much take on the British army even while they are holding guns and he is holding a dagger and tomahawk. In one of the cinematic scenes shown already, Connor takes a horse and rides head on into a battlefield with cannon balls and musket balls flying though it and when the enemies do start notice that he could possibly rally the army, they start firing at him. Immediately we see Connor use the horse he is riding as a bullet shield and leans over to the side, simple but effective. As he is sprinting up towards the army, he notices a huge boulder conveniently hanging out in the field and dodges the second volley of gunfire. Now Connor really uses the amount of time it takes to reload these guns and by the time he gets in to the group, it’s pretty much over as soon as he is in arm’s reach.
Once Connor is going toe to toe with the soldiers, we have seen him force them to shoot each other by using one of them as a bullet shield. Most of the time, Connor is in the group before they know it anyway so it looks promising but players are going to have to wait until October 30th to try out Ubisoft’s interesting take on this masterpiece of Assassin’s Creed 3.
