Black Ops 2 Matchmaking Reportedly Based on Skill Level

According to an anonymous tipster, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2‘s matchmaking will place players in multi-player games based on their abilities. The game will keep track of a given player’s skill and pair them with similarly skilled players, in an attempt to keep games balanced, much like Halo’s online multi-player system.

This has yet to be confirmed, but if true, will provide more competitive matches for pro players, and more accessible matches for beginners. It seems that the original technique of XP-based matchmaking will still be an option, giving players the choice between the two matchmaking styles. Stay tuned for further information.
