Battlefield 4 Sticking to Modern Era
Battlefield 4 is being pushed out by DICE way sooner than the players everywhere expected and they are sticking to the modern era this time around. Normally, it would take a very long time for the game following Battlefield 3 to come out as they would normally switch over to one of the Bad Company games in place of the “next one”. It seems that with the popularity that Battlefield 3 had, DICE is taking advantage of the modern popularity of the game and they are pushing it pretty hard.
When you think about it, there is not really any reason for these guys to kick out some half-baked title to buy time when they have an entirely new engine to work off of. With the Frostbite engines really putting on a show with the graphics and gameplay, DICE and EA really know that players are eating up their games and it makes more sense just to kick out more main titles. Staying in the modern era is also one of the best moves that they could make because nobody wants to drive around one type of tank and a jeep anymore when there are seven of those and two jets and a helicopter flying around in a multiplayer session. The Battlefield 3 campaign was also one of the most intense, gorgeous story lines ever to hit a shooter and that was mainly because of the use of modern tactics and technology integrated with the flawless graphics. Not switching back to World War II or something of that nature is not going to hurt the Battlefield franchise in any way because Battlefield 3 is still one of the most popular shooter games out there now.
With little to no information being released about the game itself, the beta will be coming out soon for those that pre order the new Medal of Honor and sign up in other ways as well and we will see if this launch will go smoothly for one of the most promising upcoming titles of 2013. Keep up the good work DICE and keep the modern touch we all love in your games coming.
