XBLA Minecraft release date to be announced today!  Get ready for senseless monsters and blockish….blocks.  On your Xbox.  Yeah.

The first English trailer for Wii JRPG Pandora’s Tower has been let out of its cage.  The game is to be released in Europe on April 13th.  Rabid JRPG fans are hoping it will be released in the U.S. as well, as Xenoblade and The Last Story are.  Fate will decide!

Reaction has been mixed for March’s “Silent Hill Month,” which sees the release of three separate games in the franchise: Silent Hill HD Collection (which met with mostly good reviews), Silent Hill Downpour (mixed reviews), and the upcoming Silent Hill Book of Memories.  Book of Memories will be releasing next Tuesday (3/27/2012) for the Vita, and series fans are as hopeful as ever that this last title will renew faith in the survival horror franchise.

Activision promising to ban players from using the “Black Box” exploit in Modern Warfare 3.  Use at your own peril.

There’s a huge Final Fantasy sale on PSN this week, with titles up to 50% off.  This includes PSONE Final Fantasies V through VIII, Final Fantasy Tactics, as well as PSP games Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection and Tactics: The War of the Lions.

Bioware has released an update to the surprisingly successful Mass Effect 3 multi-player suite.  Over the weekend, players killed over 3 million Brutes.  The goal for the two day challenge was 1 million, and players were rewarded with various free (digital) firearms.  In related news, The Huffington Post calls Mass Effect 3′s ending the best finale to any game ever.  In a rabid sea of discontent, it’s good to see someone enjoyed it.

Amazon is offering Xbox Live Gold Membership cards for $40 a year, $20 cheaper than usual. In addition, today’s (3/22/2012) Amazon video game Deal of the Day is a $25 gift card thrown in with the purchase of a Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value pack.  The bundle includes Fable III and Halo Reach.

The University of Utah has developed a new gaming controller featuring “tactor” technology that applies force feedback on the thumbs to simulate such feelings as recoil and the tug of a fishing line.

Check out this cool trailer for Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 using CryEngine 3.  The game is due sometime this Spring or early Summer.

Disney has unveiled Epic Mickey 2, a new co-op game to be available for all three consoles.  The first game was only available for Wii, and it not known at this time if anyone played it.

Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition will allow the use of old saves.  Dig up those backup discs, fantasy fans!

New iPhone to release sometime in the Spring or Summer, features a 4.6 inch screen and countless bad games (and a few good ones too).
