Game of the Year Awards

Best Soundtrack

Platform(s): Xbox 360, PC

Developer: Supergiant Games

Genre: Action RPG

Bastion did so many things right: the graphics, the gameplay, the story, etc. One of the most stand-out aspects is undoubtedly the fantastic soundtrack. The way it employs acoustic instruments really sets it apart from similar titles, and it suits the solemn setting perfectly. Of them all, “Build That Wall”, “In Case of Trouble”, and “The Sole Regret” are among personal favorites. Darren Korb really put a lot of heart and soul into his work, and the soundtrack stands among the best ever, up there with EarthBound, Mother 3, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross (the latter coincidentally using a similar instrumental style).

Cool list. I like how you guys didn’t just choose all the popular games. Pushmo and To the Moon were fantastic. Happy to see them in your picks.
