Skyrim’s Beautiful Flaws

There are two areas in which Bethesda, developer of the Elder Scrolls Series, is the reigning champion. One of these is its games’ open worlds and nearly limitless possibilities. From the grand— explorable forests and spelunkable mountains, to the minute— pickable flowers and catchable insects, Bethesda’s creations are beautifully crafted.

But with a game so large, and with so much player freedom, there is bound to be some unpredictability. And that’s where their second claim to fame comes in. Glitches. Skyrim is full of them. Some of these can be debilitating, stopping you from progressing in certain quests. Most players are willing to overlook these rare instances, albeit frustrating, because of the sheer scope of Skyrim, and its countless other available quests.

The majority of bugs in the game are relatively harmless, and seriously hilarious. It’s part of the charm of the Elder Scrolls. Friends are more likely to discuss what crazy glitches they have found than they are to discuss the plot or features of the game. Just as our flaws make us human, Skyrim’s flaws make it an Elder Scrolls game, and we gamers are okay with that. So sit back and enjoy these hilarious glitches via YouTube, and if you are lucky enough to own Skyrim, get out there yourself and enjoy some good ol’ glitch hunting.

That’s hilarious. I’ve encountered the “flying sabertooth tiger” myself, pretty strange.
