Thirsty Thursday – Link’s Liquid Courage
Who doesn’t know the feeling of getting home from a long day and the only thing you want to do is kick up your feet with your favorite game to enjoy some down time. When enjoying this game though, why not kick back with a drink that is inspired by one of your favorite video games? Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s time for Thirsty Thursday.
I am an admitted Zelda fan boy. Ever since I was wee little boy the lore of Hyrule and the stories of Link’s adventures have tackled my fancy. When I came upon this drink, I literally got chills from the excitement that was coursing through my veins. I present to you, The Master Sword.
For those of you that have never played a Zelda game (but you probably should stop reading things on the internet and get on that like nowish) the Master Sword is Link’s, the main protagonist, weapon. It has become a legendary blade in the gaming world, its blue hilt and oddly shaped blade are iconic to even the most casual of video game players. But now is not the time to pretend to be the hero that will save the princess and Hyrule, now is the time to wield your own Master Sword!
The drink is rather easy to make and actually rather cheap when compared to the last Thirty Thursday entry, the Portal Shots. To enjoy this drink, the designated bartender will need a shot of Gin, a half a shot of Blueberry Vodka (I would recommend Smirnoff, it is quite delicious) and Blueberry Martini Mix. Simply pour all of the ingredients into a shaker, mix, and pour into the glass fit only for someone who will be deemed the hero of time. It is recommended that if you did not get the exact coloring that you were looking for, the tiniest splash of Grenadine will help.
If you are like me and had no idea what grenadine was, it is a reddish syrup that adds the littlest bit of enjoyable flavor and color to alcoholic beverages. Thanks Google!
I would like to thank the Drunk Moogle for its directions on how to make this wondrous drink. Remember people, Link never consumed alcoholic beverages before riding Epona and you should never consume anything alcoholic either before driving.

If I had to battle giant monsters, rescue a princess over and over, and ensure the safety of an entire kingdom I'd need more than a few drinks lol
It's quite blue, this drink. It's very blue. It's BERRY blue! Hah!
